The current Venom GT already had a speed of 270.4 miles per hour. The blistering speed was proven last year at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Imagine the speed the new Venom GT will exhibit with such a staggering horsepower.
"Being the fastest matters", said company founder and president, John Hennessey. "We are intent on keeping the Venom as the fastest, best performing and most exciting hypercar on the road".
According to Hennessey the high level of Horse power was achieved by modifying the engine to run on E85. The modification allowed the tuner to increase boost pressure. The pressure in the 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine increased from 19 to 26 psi.
Hennessey claims the Venom GT can hit 100 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds if it is kept floored. Since the GPS-based traction control helps put the power down. The presence of the Michelin Pilot sport Cup 2 tires also helps to propel the latest Venom GT. The vehicle can be propelled to 60 in just 2.4 seconds.
"We only plan to produce a handful of Venom GT's in 2016 as we are also preparing for our next evolution, the Venom F5", said Hennessey. "We plan to demonstrate our improved power and performance both in terms of straight line acceleration as well as road course handling and lap time performance".
Similarly Hennessey will also unveil the Ford Mustang convertible and a VelociRaptor in store for SEMA. The Ford Mustang comes with a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine of up to 774 horsepower. While the VelociRaptor Ford F-150 Truck has a basic engine producing 650 horse power.
