The upcoming sci-fi thriller has long been a passion project of director Duncan Jones.

Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgard have been signed on for Mute. Mute is an upcoming science fictional thriller film. The film Mute was long been known as the passion project of the director Duncan Jones. Duncan Jones is known for directing the film Moon Craft.

The script of Mute has been written by Jones and Mike Johnson. The story takes place in Berlin 40 years in to the future. The setting is a roiling city called Casablanca where immigrants from the East are clashing with the West.

Alexander Skarsgard will play the character of Leo Beiler who is a mute bartender. Leo only has one reason for living a woman. But the woman seems to have disappeared.

While trying to decipher the reason behind her absence Leo uncovers a pair of American surgeons in the city’s underbelly. The leader of the surgeons is played by Paul Rudd. The story then uncovers whether the surgeons will help Leo or if he should fear them. 

Jones recently shared he has been working on making Mute for the last 12 years. The director is thrilled to be finally making the unique film. Jones also shared he is excited with the cast he has. Jones believes Mute will last long in the history of sci-fi films as an unlikely film. 

The film Mute will be produced by Stuart Fenegan under the banner of Liberty Films. The executive producers of the film are Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, and Ara Keshishian. The production of Mute will start in March 2016.
