Katy Perry topped the list of the highest earning female musician with $135 million with her Prismatic World Tour and her advertising campaigns with Covergirl and Coty and the fashion retailer Claire’s.
Katy Perry took the game this year on the Forbes list of Highest Paid Celebrities. Refining the list for the female artists that earned the most this year, Katy Perry came out on top with $135 million. She is no. 3 on the overall list.

Katy’s huge earnings can be accredited to her continuous flow of releasing singles. The videos for the singles were also streamed and watched worldwide. Other than that she grossed more than $2 million per city during 126 shows on the Prismatic World Tour.
75 of them were overseas while pulling in an astounding $20 per head in merchandise sales. In addition, she also benefited from her contracts with beauty companies Covergirl and Coty and the fashion retailer Claire’s. A new Perry-themed mobile game due out this fall
Commenting in her financial dominance, Katy said while talking to the press that she is proud of her position as a boss, as a person that runs her own company. She said that she’s an entrepreneur and she didn’t want to shy away from it. Her accurate expression was that she actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.
“I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company,” Perry told FORBES this past summer. “I’m an entrepreneur. … I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.”
Following Katy Perry is her arch-nemesis Taylor Swift with $80 million dollars with the help of her album 1989. The album was the biggest seller this year with 3.6 million copies sold worldwide followed by the 1989 world tour which grossed around $4 million per show.
In third were the band Fleetwood Mac. Although the band features three male members, the two leading ladies Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie earn them a spot with $59.9 million. The group's On With the Show tour included 86 concerts during our scoring period and boasted the highest average secondary ticket price of the year at over $300.
They were closely followed by Lady Gaga at fourth place. She used both her famous voice and style to make her millions this past year. Besides playing 66 shows during our scoring period, Gaga cashed in from deals with Versace and MAC, as well as her own Fame fragrance.

The fifth spot went to Beyoncé. Last summer's On The Run tour with husband Jay Z grossed over $100 million for 19 North American shows, giving music's first couple a nightly average on par with the Rolling Stones.
