A photo leaks showing boxes full of Tag Heuer wrist straps in very bright colors. So bright they these straps could actually be very cool.
Is Tag Heuer going to offer colorful wristbands for the Tag Heuer Connected watch? A leaked photo shows a boxes full off wrist straps that appear to be for the Tag Heuer Android Wear smartwatch.
The perforated wristbands made from rubber match the teaser image released by Tag Heuer last month. It makes sense for Tag Heuer to offer different wristbands for their first smartwatch. Most other smartwatch makers do that. The choice of bright and strong colors could actually look very cool and sporty. The colors shown in the photo leaked on Phandroid include green, red, orange, white, yellow, orange and blue.
Yellow, white and green would be my favorite picks. I would prefer though a leather material. The wrist strap part number FT6058 shown in the photo leads to an empty product page on tagheuer.com. The abbreviated product name reveals that the straps are made from rubber: "STRA CARRE MG RUBBR BLUE" and "SMWA CARRE ELMO MG TITAN DI NODIA BR RUB", SAR8A80.FT605.
Tag Heuer has scheduled the unveiling of the Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch for November 9 in New York. The details are still sparse. Tag Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver has revealed that the Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch will be priced at $1,800. This is multiple times higher than any other available Android Wear smartwatch.
The Tag Heuer smartwatch is supposed to look like the Carrera Heuer 01, which is the new flagship Carrera watch in honor of Tag Heuer's founder Edouard Heuer. The CAR2A1Z.FT6044 TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 has a retail price of about $5,000.
The Heuer 01 has a 45 mm case size and is overall pretty big. This could allow Tag Heuer to integrate higher performing hardware and a larger battery. Let's see if Tag Heuer is able to innovate on the technical side. It would be disappointing if the Tag Heuer Connected is just an expansive version of the Moto 360 Android Wear watch, offering the same tech specs and features.
