The actress will star in the upcoming Disney live action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
Chloe Grace Moretz has been confirmed for the role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid. The upcoming film will be a live action adaptation of the classical Disney tale. The news was first confirmed by Chloe herself on her official Twitter page. Chloe tweeted she has been waiting a long time to tell her fans about the role.
A while later Variety also broke the news with all the details about the cast and crew. Chloe then took a screenshot of the Variety page and posted it on her official Instagram. The post further confirmed Chloe has been signed on for the role of the iconic mermaid.
Chloe wrote she is very excited for the beautiful journey along with her Instagram post. Chloe is also excited to be working with Working Title and Universal studio. Chloe then confirmed Richard Curtis will write the script for the upcoming film.
Curtis is famous for writing and directing About Time and Love Actually. Curtis also wrote the script for War Horse and Bridget Jones's Diary. Sofia Coppola was supposed to direct the film but dropped out in June. Rumor has it Coppola dropped out because she did not want to work with Chloe.

The live action film The Little Mermaid will be a fresh portrayal of the famous fairy tale. The film story will be based on the story by Christian Andersen. The story revolves around a mermaid who wishes to become human after falling in love with a man. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will be the producers. While Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger will be the executive producers.
