Black Friday in the UK is going through growing pains.

Black Friday sales exploded last year in the UK. Consumers spent an estimated £810 million on Black Friday online alone. On Black Friday 2015 the online sales volume is predicted to pass the £1 billion milestone ($1.5 billion).

The Black Friday success of last year is not all good news though. Overall consumers did not spend more for the whole Holiday season than before. Money just got spent earlier, but on deals and not on new goods for the Holiday gifting season at full price. Black Friday is disrupted the normal schedule of Holiday discounts in the UK.

This and the whole craziness around it as led to American owned ASDA to cancel Black Friday this year. ASDA is owned by Walmart and has been on the forefront to establish Black Friday in the UK along with Amazon.

ASDA CEO Andy Clarke explains to the BBC: "The decision to step away from Black Friday is not about the event itself," said Asda chief executive Andy Clarke. Over the last two years we've developed an organized, well-executed plan, but this year customers have told us loud and clear that they don't want to be held hostage to a day or two of sales."

Asda Stores Limited was founded in 1949. Since 1999 the supermarket retailer, headquartered in Leeds, West Yorkshire is owned by American retail giant Walmart.

So far ASDA is the only drop out of Black Friday. John Lewis and most other retailers will host Black Friday 2015 sales on November 27.

The British National Police Chiefs' Council has warned retailers to beef up security for Black Friday. Last year there have been fights among Black Friday shopper like in the Black Friday stampede days in the US.

Black Friday is still expected to be huge in the UK this year despite ASDA's move.

For US Black Friday shoppers this week is bringing the release of all major Black Friday 2015 ads including the Walmart Black Friday 2015 Ad. Target and Best Buy have already released their highly anticipated Black Friday 2015 Ads. The $149.99 49-inch Toshiba TV doorbuster deal is the most thought after deal so far.
