The coupe variant of the 10th generation Civic Sedan will arrive in showrooms by March 2016.
Honda just introduced the coupe variant of the all-new, 10th-generation Civic Sedan. The car was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The coupe variant will be available in showrooms next March 2016.
The new Civic Coupe is much sleeker and sportier than the previous-generation Civic models. The wheelbase is longer by 2.9 inches and the body is also wider by 1.9 inches. Even the front overhang has been shortened by 1.4 inches.
All the new proportions have increased the interior space. The interior space grows by 8.4 cubic feet. Even the rear legroom has increased by 5.0 inches in the compact car.
The Civic Coupe has a platform that brings weight savings. There are also improvements in the torsional rigidity which gives it superior driving dynamics. The coupe comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
The engine can deliver 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. A new turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine is also available. The new engine can be added with Mid-spec trim levels. The new engine can generate 174 hp and 162 lb-ft.
The interior has soft-touch materials and high-grade finishes. A bevy of new standard and available features have been added including the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration systems. Other features such as remote engine start, heated seats and side mirrors have also been added.
“We continue on our epic 10th-generation Civic journey with the sportiest, most sophisticated and tech-savvy Civic Coupe yet,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and general manager of the Honda Division.
