  • The LA auto show saw the world debut of the Scion C-HR concept today!

The Scion C-HR Concept strives to stand out from the crowd with a design incorporated with functionality and performance.

The Scion C-HR Concept was unveiled today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It was the world debut of the Scion C-HR concept. The concept was unveiled by Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland.

According to Gilleland, Scion has a reputation for doing things weirdly and differently. The C-HR Concept embraces the versatility idea of Scion. Gilleland even went on to say the new Scion concept wears the title like a badge of honor.

“Scion is known for doing things differently, and maybe even being a little weird,” said Scion Vice President Andrew Gilleland. “This C-HR Concept embraces that idea and wears it like a badge of honor. We couldn’t be more excited to add the production version to our line-up.”

The C-HR Concept is named after Compact size and High Ride height. The C-HR has a knack for supreme functionality.

According to Scion, the C-HR concept car will be the perfect vehicle for young urban creatives also known as ‘yuccies. The C-HR is for customers who consider most SUV’s as too boring. The concept is especially designed for the urban lifestyle. The Scion C-HR concept is also being classified as distinctive, sophisticated and passionate.

The car has a body inspired from the shape of a diamond. The C-HR concept therefore has sheered sides. Even the cabin of the C-HR is like a precision-cut gemstone. Every angle of the car resembles diamond points.

Graphite black accents have been added on the grille, rear bumper and fender flares. The roof of the C-HR is all black giving it a sleek and stylish profile. Furthermore the C-HR has 21-inch wheels giving it a chiseled cut-out shape.

“Even though the C-HR has a high ride height, our focus was on creating a fantastic urban driving car,” said C-HR Chief Engineer Hiro Koba. “My favorite place to be on a weekend is at a race track and I wanted to build a car that I would have just as much fun driving in the city during the week with refined driving comfort and responsive, precise steering.”

The Scion C-HR production version debuts in 2016.

“The Scion C-HR will be a stand-out vehicle for us” said Gilleland. “Its styling will lead the way, but its substance will seal the deal. It’s got amazing driving dynamics, superb functionality, and, like all Scions, premium features at an accommodating price. There’s no doubt this will be the next iconic vehicle for Scion.”
