Author J.K. Rowling finally explained the reasons behind naming Harry’s son Albus Severus potter.

The final book in the Harry Potter series was a revelation on many levels. One of the most baffling revelations was the name of the Harry’s youngest son. Harry Potter had apparently given his second son the name ‘Albus Severus’.

Many fans showed confusion after the final novel ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ came out. ‘Severus’ was the first name of the pesky potions teacher Professor Snape. Snape always made Harry’s time at the school difficult. Ultimately Snape was also responsible for killing Professor Dumbledore. 

J.K. Rowling has finally explained the real reason behind the decision. Rowling took to Twitter to reveals the reason. According to Rowling Harry wanted to honor Snape’s love for his late mother Lily Potter.

The answer came after a fan asked why Rowling picked Snape’s name for Harry’s kid. The fan that asked was generously curious as Snape was always abusive towards everyone. Rowling replied Snape died for Harry out of love for Lily. So Harry paid Snape tribute in forgiveness and gratitude. 

However the answer further sent the legions of Potterhead fans in meltdown. The fans kept on arguing over the role of Snape in the books and the films. Rowling then expressed her delight at her fans because they have been arguing about Snape for years. Rowling revealed her timeline just exploded with love & fury. Rowling still advised her fans to never change. 

Rowling then again further explained the reason behind naming Harry’s son. Rowling explained Snape held no malice against Harry. Snape was projecting his hatred and jealousy of James on Harry. The decision was the heart of who Harry was, post-war. Harry hoped by honoring Snape in his heart that he too would be forgiven.
