70% of Walmart's Cyber Monday Traffic Came from Mobile Devices

Walmart unveiled first details about Cyber Monday event.

Cyber Monday 2015 is history. It is almost a given each year that Cyber Monday sales grow by double digits. Adobe projects that sales have reached almost $3 billion on Cyber Monday 2015, which is an increase of 12% from last year.

Walmart's first statement about Cyber Monday did not reveal sales, but that 70% of the traffic to walmart.com was coming from mobile devices. 50% of all orders Walmart received since Thanksgiving are from mobile devices. This is double from last year.

The mobile traffic share is impressive. Desktop traffic becomes more and more irrelevant for e-commerce. Consumers will just use apps and mobile sites to shop online. Retailers not having a strong mobile presence need to take Walmart's numbers as a warning sign. Mobile is taking over online shopping.

The top products in the Walmart Cyber Monday sale have been Star Wars toys, 4K HDTVs 50-55”, drones, Xbox One and PS4 video game bundles, iPad Minis and 14-ft. trampoline.

Walmart is continuing today with the Cyber Week sale. The Holiday shopping season just got started.

Retailers extend Cyber Monday 2015 into the Cyber Week 2015. Online shops try to keep the momentum going and offer new deals every day in the Cyber Week events. Cyber Week is the first week of Holiday sales. After Cyber Week retailers will fully switch to advertise Holiday sales.

You can expect many more deals to be on offer, but also the hottest Holiday gifts are selling out quickly, and join the fate of Amazon's Fire tablet. Nothing is more frustrating than finding gifts sold out and shipping dates after Christmas.
Frustrated consumers than turn to eBay to pay premium on the hard to find Holiday gifts.

We recommend to hunt for Holiday gifts early and get a deal when you see one.
