With the Wal-Mart Pay app released today, Wal-Mart is making it clear that it cares about saving its customers’ money and time within and outside its retails stores – and come to think of it, the functionality of the new payment app is fast, easy, and secured.
A great thing to note with this new payment option is that Wal-Mart becomes the only retailer with its own payment solution designed for most iOS and Android mobile devices capable of downloading the app from Google and Apple app stores. The Wal-Mart Pay app is designed to work with most credit and debit cards, and it also works with pre-paid as well as Wal-Mart gift cards.
Starting this month, customers will be able to use the Wal-Mart Pay app in some retail stores across the nation, but all retail stores will be able to utilize it by mid-2016.
”The Wal-Mart app was built to make shopping faster and easier,” said Neil Ashe, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Global eCommerce. “Wal-Mart Pay is the latest example – and a powerful addition – of how we are transforming the shopping experience by seamlessly connecting online, mobile and stores for the 140 million customers who shop with us weekly.”
About 22 million customers already use the Wal-Mart app monthly, and the Wal-Mart Pay will prove very helpful in helping to pay for purchases as well as enhancing overall shopping experience across all stores.
Using the new Wal-Mart Pay is fast and easy. You only need activate your smartphone camera after opening the Wal-Mart app and selecting Wal-Mart Pay. You then scan the code displayed at the register when you’re ready to checkout from the store. You associate scans and your transaction is completed; an e-reciept is delivered to your app and you can view this any time you wish.
“The simplicity and ease of Wal-Mart Pay comes not only from how it works, but also in how it’s been built,” said Daniel Eckert, senior vice president, services, Wal-Mart US.
