  • Ford displays a blanketed vehicle at the Detroit Auto Show preview!

The 2017 Ford Fusion is supposed to mark its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month.

Ford Motors is probably trying to up the hype surrounding the debut of the 2017 Ford Fusion. The Detroit Auto Show preview event which took place today is any indication.

At the event Ford displayed a blanketed vehicle with a sign saying Top Secret. The sign further stated the blanket is not to be moved until the date 01.11.2016. Motorauthority posted the image of blanketed 2017 Ford Fusion Energi vehicle on Instagram.

Ford seems to love teasing the fans and the covered car is a huge tease. The Ford Fusion design was already released beforehand. However the Detroit Auto Show will see the official and full debut of the Ford Fusion 2017.

Some sources are claiming the covered car is not the standard version of the 2017 Ford Fusion. Word on the street is the covered car is actually the Energi model of Ford Fusion.

The Energi model is actually the plug-in hybrid version of the Ford Fusion. The Energi and standard models are nearly identical in design, according to AutoBlog.

The covered car has been found to have a cord sticking into the side of the car. So the possibility of a purely Electric Vehicle was eliminated. The cord also indicates the car could be an Energi model.

The current Energi version of Fusion has the ability to give 38 combined miles per gallon. The earlier leak of the Fusion 2017 showed wider grilles than the covered car. More significant are the technological and powertrain improvements on the Ford Fusion 2017.
