The talk with Sony is calculated to be related to porting certain games to Sony’s PlayStation consoles – something that gamers would love very much but which has a lot of business intricacies involved for both Kojima and Sony.
Kojima was first rumored to have left Konami in October but this turned out to be a lie, because his contract with the company had not expired at that time. And while there had been other talks of him going on vacation, it is estimated that this might not be unrelated with the prospective move to leave Konami and found his own gaming studio.
And another thing: he is said to have brought some staffers from Konami to start this new studio with him, something that may give him professional leverage in his new company.
Game analysts however think it would be best if Kojima’s new studio or partnership with Sony would help him to produce small games that would be excellent for all gamers and the new business, rather than big budget games with a lot of functionalities.
