It has been found that the 9 out of 10 cancers are due to the unhealthy lifestyles of the victims.

Cancer is not just down to bad luck in the biological and genetic game. It is often due to environmental carcinogens that could be avoided at the drop of a hat. We all have choice. And when we make bad choices the results are often nasty.

Upto two-thirds of the cancers were due to other factors than plain old dumb luck. Smoking and smoke played a major role in the production of carcinogens in the body.

A minority of cancers, 10% to 30%, were of the spontaneous kind. The rest could have been prevented with a few tweaks in daily living.

The new study, published in the journal Nature, provided unrefutable evidence of lifestyle as a major component in the contraction of the deadly disease of cancer.

The mechanism behind the disease is the body’s own stem cells turning wild and spreading in an out of control manner. This is responsible for the phenomenon of metastasis.

While intrinsic factors such as cell mutations do play a role in this blind multiplication of cells, other things such as smoking, UV rays and a host of processes have their part to play in the genesis of cancer.

The balance of external and internal factors cannot be refuted. But the external causes count far more than the internal reasons. Some tissues were indeed more sensitive to outer carcinogens.

The past reports said that since we could not control our cell division, cancer was just a sort of bad karma. But the latest studies show that there is more here than meets the eye.

The issue was explored from various perspectives. Among the tools used in the analysis may be included computer models, demographic information and genetic ways of assessing the situation.

What was found was that over 70% to 90% of the risk agents came from outside the human body. If you are a chain smoker and you say that you contracted cancer due to bad luck, well, such is hardly the case.

The game is like one of Russian Roulette. It takes a gun and a bullet. But the choice to play with your life is yours alone. And you and you alone are responsible for any side effects of your stupid choices which you make on a daily basis.

With greater addictions and bad habits, the number of bullets in the gun increase and the chances of dying from this suicidal game of hard luck become even more real.

There is a ton of proof of the salubrious effects of a good, natural and healthy diet on warding off the risks of cancer. And regular moderate exercise along with plenty of restful energizing sleep not to mention stress relief can work wonders for the individual.
