NAIAS 2016: Buick Debuts All New Avista Concept
  • Buick to introduce the all new Avista Concept at the North American International Auto Show 2016!

The all new concept will feature an innovative Buick design elegance in a turbocharged 2+2 coupe.

The Avista concept will make its public debut at the North American International Auto Show. The 2+2 coupe concept features a contemporary design with historic performance roots.

The Avista will be a sleek vehicle with sweeping proportions. The vehicle was created with a vision of a contemporary grand tourer. The Avista will produce 400-horsepower with a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. The driver-focused cockpit in the Avsta will offer a comfortable, connected center of control.

Duncan Aldred is the vice president of Global Buick Sales, Service and Marketing. According to Aldred, the Avista embodies the dynamic soul of Buick. Avista is the modern expression of Buick’s heritage.

“The Avista embodies the dynamic soul of Buick,” said Duncan, “It is a modern expression of the brand’s heritage of sophisticated performance, communicated with beautiful elegance.”

The Avista represents the sophisticated performance, communicated with beautiful elegance. The uninterrupted body lines of the Avista stretch front to rear. The design is similar to the 2017 LaCrosse by Buick.

The Avista concept will be devoid of the conventional B-pillars between the doors and rear side windows. The omission will enhance the flowing profile of the Buick vehicle.

The front and rear of the Avista evolves the signature Buick wing-shaped lighting with “soft curtain” elements. The lightning creates a halo like effect suggesting a three-dimensional shape and sculpture.

The Avista exterior will also feature a 110.7-inch wheelbase. The track will also be 63-inch in front and 62.9-inch rear.

“There is elegant simplicity in the Avista’s surfaces, which speak to the purity of the car’s performance, and a timeless beauty that’s a hallmark of Buick design,” said Bryan Nesbitt, executive director Global Buick Design. “It was designed to capture the spirit of the perfect drive.”

The NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) is hosted at the MGM Grand Detroit. 2016 will be the ninth year of the ultra-luxury automotive event. The NAIAS constitutes the release of more than 50 new cars. NAIAS will last from the 16th to the 24th of January, 2016.
