Nissan unveils the TITAN Warrior Concept at the North American International Auto Show 2016. The concept was unveiled exactly one year after the all-new Nissan TITAN XD made its world debut.

The concept was also unveiled on the very same stage. The TITAN Warrior design study is created to show the capabilities of the TITAN Warrior. It demonstrates how the Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine can be adapted for off-road adventure use.

The concept shows the current TITAN XD design but equipped with the Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine. Additionally unique exterior and interior design treatments have been added. Similarly a modified off-road suspension has been inserted in the TITAN Warrior concept.

According to Nissan, they are exploring new territory where TITAN might go in the future with the concept.

“Truck buyers have a seemingly insatiable appetite for more content and more unique offerings,” said José Muñoz, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and chairman, Nissan North America, Inc., as he revealed the TITAN Warrior Concept.

“Even though our all-new 2016 TITAN XD just started arriving at Nissan dealers nationwide last month, we are already exploring new territory where TITAN might go in the future.”

At the Detroit auto show the Nissan IDS Concept also made an appearance in the Nissan display. The concept was a star at the Tokyo Motor Show due to its autonomous driving vehicle capabilities. The IDS Concept embodies Nissan's vision of the future of autonomous driving.

The concept also promotes zero emission electric vehicles by integrating advanced vehicle control. Even the safety technologies feature cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI).

The concept show Nissan is among the leaders developing real-world autonomous drive technology. Nissan also revealed their sales figures for 2015. In 2015 Nissan sold an all-time high of 1,484,918 units which is a 7.1 percent increase over sales in 2014.

“We set sales records month after month, profitably. We introduced fresh products in every critical segment, including full-size pickups. And we beat the industry average in terms of percentage of sales increase,” explained Muñoz.

“Our calendar year share of 8.3 percent represents the one of the highest gains in the industry and our brand value continues to rise. Our market presence also continues to expand through our involvement in sports, entertainment and charity support.”

The NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) is hosted at the MGM Grand Detroit. 2016 will be the ninth year of the ultra-luxury automotive event. The NAIAS constitutes the release of more than 50 new cars. NAIAS will last from the 16th to the 24th of January, 2016.
