The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, wins Bafta 2016 for best film.

Leonardo DiCaprio continues to collect awards on the road to the Oscars 2016. Last night DiCaprio won a Bafta for best actor in the movie The Revenant, which won the Bafta 2016 for best film. Director of the The Revenant, Alejandro G Inarritu, won best director. The Revenant won a fourth Bafta for Cinematography and a fifth for Sound.

Mad Max: Fury Road als won four Baftas 2016, but only in secondary Award categories.

The survivalist thriller has dominated the Baftas 2016 hands down. The EE British Academy Film Awards took place at The Royal Opera House on in London. See the full list of Bafta 2016 Winners.

41-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio already won an Emmy for his role in The Revenant. He is nominated for an Academy Award for The Revenant. It is his fourth Oscar nomination and if he does not win this year something will explode.

The 88th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 28, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be broadcasted live by the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 pm PT.
