This movie is surely a big piece for the 20th Century Fox productions. This comic and movie has been rated as PG-13 since the past 15 years. Thus changing its rating to R is certainly a bold move.
The sequel with Huge Jackman playing Wolverine is all set for release on March 3, 2017. It is speculated that the reason for changing its rating might have evolved from the unexpected but huge success of the R-rated “Deadpool”.
It is said that there were quite a few discussions in the past for moving the rating to R while Wolverine 2 was in the making in 2012.
However it was said that an R-rating would prevent teenagers and children from watching the film. And kids are also the fan of this super-hero movie. So changing its rating will be a disappointment for kids.
