The 410 is 70 kgs lighter than the hardcore version, the Evora 400. The British car maker Lotus used a new carbon-fibre front splitter to shed the weight in Evora 410.
Even the roof panel, rear tailgate and diffuser of the new Evora have been shaped using the new Carbon-fibre. The small coupe Evora 410 also comes with lighter forged alloy wheels.
The lighter wheels also donated to the 70 kgs weight loss. The Evora 410 now weighs just 1325kg. Lotus engineers have also tweaked the Evora’s Aero package. The tweaking has produced an additional 15 per cent downforce in the Evora 410.
The Evora 410 has the same Toyota-sourced supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine. However the power of the engine has been raised to 306kW/410Nm. It means the Evora 410 can produce 8kW more than the Evora 400, but the same torque.
The Evora Sport 410 takes 3.9 seconds to reach 100km/h. So the Evora 410 is 0.3 seconds faster than the Evora 400. Alas the top speed is the same 300km/. Lotus claims the real benefits of Sport 410 are felt are on the track.
The Evora Sport 410 also has the limited-slip diff and a stability control system. But the infotainment system and air con have been made optional. Only 150 of the Evora Sport 410 will be built. The Evora 410 will be priced at around $145,000 in the UK.
