  • The Geneva Auto Show just saw Italdesign display its GTZero concept!

The concept is a tribute to VW controlled Italdesign’s visions of the past, with a futuristic electric drivetrain.

The Volkswagen-controlled design house Italdesign displayed its annual concept at the Geneva Motor Show. The concept is a representation of how automobiles are changing and not all EVs have to be boring. The Italdesign GTZero Concept has an asserting design.

Italdesign claims the concept will produce about 483 horsepower. The horsepower might not have been impressive if it was a good old internal combustion engine.

But in GTZero the horse power is generated by three electric motors, according to AutoBlog. The horsepower indicates the GTZero is surely blessed with a massive load of torque.

The powering of all four wheels will allow on-demand traction control and torque vectoring. Italdesign claims the concept has a range of 310 miles and the top speed is limited to 155 miles per hour.

Italdesign has not revealed the type of batteries being used but claims the battery pack can deliver 311 miles. The battery pack also has 80 % capacity and can be charges in as little as 30 minutes.

Italdesign further revealed the GTZero has been designed with a modular platform. The platform consists of a carbon fiber monocoque in the center. The monocoque also contains the batteries.

The subframes of the front and rear are made up of aluminium. The concept will have room for four passengers with reasonable amount of luggage area.

Not many details about the interior of the GTZero have been revealed. But that is the beauty of concepts, they done need much details or explainations.
