The 2016 Geneva Motor Show held in Switzerland is again the platform for automakers to show off their most outrageous cars. It has always been the fate of Geneva Motor Show to see cars aplenty. But 2016 was a special year since every auto maker seems to be pushing the envelope.

From supercars to SUVs to concepts, it all seems outrageous. The 86th Geneva Motor Show started on the 1st of March and will end on the 13th of March. More than 100 cars and concepts made their world premiere in Geneva.
All of them are the exciting and amazing offerings by different auto brands from around the world. The Swiss convention should be lauded for the number of car debuts and concept premieres it can accommodate. Let us take a look at some of the most eye-catching cars from the Swiss convention.
The Geneva Motor Show would be incomplete without the presence of supercars. Some of the most spectacular super cars from the GISM 2016 are:
The Bugatti Chiron is the super car to take over from the Veyron. The super car can allegedly produce about 1,479b horse power which in itself is a statement. The Chiron also lays claim to a 261mph top speed. The most outrageous fact about the Chiron is its price tag. Only 500 of the Bugatti Chiron will be ever made but every single will have a price tag of £2m. According to Bugatti, 180 models of the Chiron have already been sold.
The Centenario is one of the most highly anticipated vehicles by Lamborghini ever with its 759bhp. The Centenario is being released as a celebration of founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday. Only 40 of the exclusive Centenario will be ever made, with 20 coupés and 20 roadsters. A single Centenario was worth £1.64m and Lamborghini claims already all 40 cars have been sold.
DB10 made quite the splash in 2015 with the release of Bond film ‘Spectre’. Now the road worthy version DB11 is finally here. The Aston Martin DB11 had its global debut at the Swiss convention. The DB11 has completely redefined the design of Aston Martin cars and claims top 200mph speed. Additionally the super car boasts twin-turbo 5.2-litre V12 engine capable of producing 600bhp. The Aston Martin DB11 will be priced at an affordable £155,000.
Jaguar introduced its all new super car called the F-Type SVR. The new F-Type SVR is a hyper version of the critically acclaimed F-Type sports car. The new F-Type SVR is capable of producing 575-horsepower and has a top speed of 200-mph. The F-Type SVR has been displayed in Switzerland with an orange paint-job.
Gumpert now called Apollo has made a come-back at the Swiss convention with the super car ApolloN or also called Apollo Arrow. The dramatically styled prototype features a twin-turbo 4-liter V8 engine. The powerful engine is capable of producing 986bhp. Apollo also claims the prototype will be able to hit 224mph.
Porsche brought its latest 911R to the Swiss convention, for its unveiling. According to Porsche the new 911R is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4-liter flat six engine. The engine is connected to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The 911R has been created for Porsche purists who were not happy with the 911 turbo version. On top the Porsche 911R can deliver an impressive 493bhp and costs about £137,000.
The British brand revealed a super hyper extreme car with 2,080-horsepower called the Arash AF-10 in Geneva. For Arash it was their time under the spotlight as it unveiled the vehicle with such immense power. Arash claims the AF-10 can hit 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds only and has a top speed in excess of 201 mph. The AF-10 has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine.
Mansory unveiled the 4XX Siracusa super car in Geneva. The super car has an extreme carbon fiber body. Many have dubbed the car to be an extreme version of the Ferrari 488 GTB. The exotic super car has a 3.9-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The 4XX Siracusa boasts an output of 790 horse power and 643 torque. According to Mansory, the 4XX Siracusa can hit 60 in just 2.9 seconds.
The Sedan and SUV is becoming the most in-demand car all around the world due to its comfort and ease. The Geneva Motor Show had plenty of sedans and SUVs on display, the most prominent ones are:
The new sports utility Maserati Levante SUV was the headliner at the Geneva Motor Show. Long awaited Maserati Levante was finally revealed in production form. The Maserati Levante will be available in 3-liter petrol and diesel engines. Similarly the standard kit includes an eight-speed automatic gearbox. A special ‘intelligent’ all-wheel drive has been added to the Maserati Levante.
The all-new 2017 E-Class is a 10th generation sedan. The new E-Class also premieres numerous technical innovations by Mercedes. According to Mercedes it is the most intelligent sedan ever. The sedan features stylish and sporty proportions with a turbocharged 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The engine can deliver 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.
Finally the long awaited Baleno sedan came for its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Suzuki announced the 2017 Baleno is made on an elegant design theme called ‘Liquid Flow’. The design theme is based on a new lightweight platform by Suzuki. The premium compact boasts a turbocharged 1.0-litre direct-injected three-pot BoosterJet petrol unit. The Baleno will be able to output 110hp and 170Nm of torque.
Audi unveiled the incredibly smaller crossover at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The Q2 is slightly smaller than the current Q3. The Q2 is based on the VW flexible MQB platform. The SUV has a height of 5.0 feet and has an overall length of 13.7 ft, with a width of 5.9 ft. The Q2 features a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. The engine can produce up to 114 horsepower.
The 2nd generation VW Tiguan was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The SUV features a completely reconfigured design with wider and lower proportions. According to VW, the new Tiguan will have eight different engine options in petrol and diesel. All versions of the Tiguan will have the 4MOTION Active Control which offers four driving modes.
Any auto show would be incomplete without Luxury Sport cars. The 2016 Geneva Motor Show had its fair share of the Luxury Sports car segment, some of them are:
Lotus just unveiled its lightweight but more powerful Evora Sport 410 coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. The coupe is 70 kgs lighter than the hardcore version and made using a new carbon-fibre. Almost all parts of the coupe are made from the carbon fiber. The Evora 410 has a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine with power raised to 306kW/410Nm. So the Evora 410 only takes 3.9 seconds to reach 100km/h.
The new Ferrari GTC4Lusso is a four passenger luxury hatchback. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso has a 6.3-liter V-12 engine which makes 681 horse powers at an eardrum-tickling 8000 rpm. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso also features a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic. According to Ferrari it can reach a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph. The interior of the GTC4Lusso is just as splendour with a 10.3-inch infotainment screen with capacitive-touch controls. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso also features all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, unlike any other.
The compact luxury car by the Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera now offers a Spyder version. The spyder version has been named as the Disco Volante. The car is a curious machine based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Spyder. So basically it’s the same specs but with a different car body.
The new Fiat Abarth 124 Spider was displayed at the Swiss convention. Basically the new Fiat 124 shares a lot with the Mazda MX-5 but with some new twists. The new Fiat 124 Spider has Fiat's four-pot 1.4-liter MultiAir engine. The engine claims to produce about 170bhp. According to Fiat the 124 Spider will be priced at £31,000 and will arrive in the market by September 2016.
The Morgan EV3 displayed at the Geneva Motor Show is an all-electric version of Morgan’s wacky Three-Wheeler. The EV3 is full of character at first look. According to Morgan, the EV3 has a 150-mile range, a 62bhp motor, a 90mph top speed. The EV3 can hit 0-62mph in less than nine seconds. The Morgan EV3 will soon be in the market and has been priced around a reasonable £30,000.
Like all auto shows the Geneva Motor Show was also a platform for the introduction of new concepts. The most innovative concepts of the lot were:
Pininfarina displayed its most revolutionary concept yet at the Geneva Motor Show. The H2 Speed is hydrogen-powered concept for the green energy enthusiasts. On top of that the concept car features a pair of racing-spec electric motors. A lightweight fuel cell has also been added into the mix of green energy. If it reaches production the H2 Speed will be the first track-ready hydrogen fuel-cell car.
The SE E-Tense is a pure-electric concept which may never reach production. It is the first concept from the brand after its separation from Citroën in two years. The E-Tense claims to manage around 200 miles on a single charge. The bold statement vehicle on display was undeniably gorgeous inside and out.
The latest offering by the Volkswagen owned design house Italdesign is the GTZero concept. The important fact about the GTZero is that it is an all-electric concept. The GTZero can produce 483bhp and is capable of 311 miles on a single charge. The styling cues of the GTZero have been based upon various Lamborghinis. The concept with its sharp lines and electric power would be something if it ever reaches production.
Volkswagen introduced the new T-Cross Breeze concept at the 86th Geneva Motor Show. The concept is the start of a broad SUV offensive by Volkswagen. The T-Cross Breeze is the most compact sports utility vehicle by VW with an open-top SUV, the first of its class. Volkswagen has increased the seating height in the new SUV concept to increase driver visibility.
The Subaru XV Concept had a grand debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The XV concept features Subaru’s new Dynamic X Solid design language. The concept has a more rugged and off-road worthy look. The design features zigzag headlights and orange accents on the grille, bumpers, and wheels. The concept will soon go into production according to Subaru.
