According to the press release from Nestle, nearly 3 million boxes of frozen foods, including DiGiorno pizzas, Stouffer's lasagnas, and Lean Cuisine meals have been recalled over concerns that there is glass in some of their products. The pieces that have been found by several customers were reportedly small, but big enough to cause a problem.
Nestle USA, who is the company behind the brands, announced the voluntary recall on Thursday after several customers reported that they found the small pieces, but there were no injuries reported. Nestle believes that the cause of the glass may be from spinach. The vegetable is one of the most common ingredients to get recalled overall.
About 2.98 million individual boxes are affected in the recall. They don't include all of the meals, but do include four different varieties of DiGiorno Pizzas, five kinds of Lean Cuisine and three Stouffer’s meals. These include:
DiGiorno Thin & Crispy Spinach and Garlic Pizza
DiGiorno Rising Crust Spinach and Mushroom Pizza
DiGiorno pizzeria Thin Crust Spinach and Mushroom Pizza
DiGiorno pizzeria Tuscan-style Chicken Pizza
Lean Cuisine Spinach and Mushroom Pizza
Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli
Lean Cuisine Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli
Lean Cuisine Spinach, Artichoke & Chicken Panini
Lean Cuisine Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli
