Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ spokesperson announced a recall service for approximately 15,000 jeeps in order to fix left front brake caliper.

Fiat Chrysler is recalling 2015-2016 models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. Automobiles’ officials said that the company is going to recall 14,768 models of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango because of the front brake issue.

2015 and 2016 models of the Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango which were manufactured between December 9, 2015, and January 14, 2016, are the particular vehicles being recalled.

According to the company’s spokesperson, in some vehicles, the left front brake caliper has been made from the wrong type of iron that could crack anytime.

A cracked brake caliper may not function properly and could cause some serious accidents on roads. In addition, a cracked brake caliper may also lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.

The company is not aware of any kind of injury or death yet. The issues was discovered by the automaker during testing service.

FCA’s spokesperson added that dealers and owners will need to check the component, and if necessary, replace the brake caliper. The schedule for carrying out the recall service has yet to be announced.
