The actress Scarlett Johansson spoke out on all sorts of issues recently in an interview she gave to Cosmopolitan magazine.
Scarlett Johansson has become a Hollywood icon. Besides appearing in such films as Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring, she has been called a modern-day Marilyn Monroe. Yes, she does indeed look like that full-figured and sensual actress of yore.

Recently, Johansson sat down for a one-on-one interview with Cosmopolitan magazine. She talked extempore on many things among which were Planned Parenthood, feminism and reaching the brink of meaninglessness.
Scarlett said that there were so many dire problems in the world today. There was the terrorist threat, there was climate change and there was the fear of total war. Yet here we were trying to cut the budget for Planned Parenthood.
Scarlett admitted to using PP in her early days of growing up and it was not for anything shady like a secret abortion. Rather she used the organization for pap smear tests and breast exams.
These things are very important for a female’s health. Yet the leaders cannot see past the end of their noses and are ready to reduce the resources that go to this agency.
She said that although as an actress she was proud to be getting a paycheck that was equal to any successful male actor, she did not like to boast about it at all.
Rather she was concerned with feminist issues such as equal pay for all females. All women deserved a break from the backbreaking work they did.
They ought to have their talents and hard work recognized by the male half. She said that one day in the future, the feminist movement will have progressed to the point where the glass ceiling would not exist for women. Till that day, it was an uphill struggle.
Finally, Scarlett confessed that she was one of those persons who had once had a very big crush on a member of the opposite sex. Yet it was a case of unrequited love.
This led her into a personal hell and the very depths of depression. It was a case of utter addiction and a craving for the other person who was always unavailable.

She had to reach the level of least self esteem in order to pick up the pieces of her life and begin anew. That negative experience has made her a stronger person in the long run.
