Video Game turned movie Tomb Raider is all set for a reboot and a return to the big screen in 2017.
There were a few video games that got lot of popularity and then were adapted into movies. Tomb Raider showcasing Lara Croft was certainly a game that rocked gaming fans 20 years ago.

It went viral after its initial release and actually became one of the most sold-out games in the history of the first edition of Playstation. Soon the idea was penned down as a movie script casting Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, the badass super girl.
“Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” which was released in 2001 starring Jolie did a fantastic number on the big screen. People loved the idea of Lara doing all the great stuff on screen and handling all the amazing gadgets.
However, the movie was not critically acclaimed by movie gurus. Yet it managed to do great at the box office. After that “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life” was released in the year 2003. This movie got positive reviews but couldn’t do well financially.
Later on a reboot of the Tomb Raider game was introduced in 2013 with a more realistic version of the main character. This game instantly became a hit in which Lara was shown a little less experienced, handling more realistic missions.
Now the Norwegian director, Roar Uthaug is looking to make a reboot of this movie, according to ScreenRant. He is in talks with writers so that a script of the movie goes into making.
It is rumored that Daisey Ridley is considered for the role of Lara in this new movie. Ridley got her fame from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” where her role was much appreciated.

She recently confirmed that she is in talks with movie officials for the title role in Tomb Raider. If things go as planned we might see a new Tomb Raider in 2017.
