Disney’s new project “Pete’s Dragon” has gone into production and recently a poster revealed the dragon that would appear in the movie.
The first poster of the movie showed Pete’s Dragon. Whereas the poster did not show the dragon’s full image, it did show the creature hiding behind a tree. The first trailer of the movie was released a few days earlier and it also did not show any dragon.

It looks like Disney is trying to build up the anticipation of the fans by delaying the first image of this dragon in the movie. Pete’s Dragon however has made a shadowy experience in this poster release. The Dragon’s name is Elliot. EW posted first image of new dragon.
David Lowery also tweeted his first sketch of Elliot. See it below.
Elliot is supposed to be a big green and toothy dragon that can be seen in the poster. He seems to resemble a giant dog that is pretty weird for a dragon as they have their unique shapes and characters.
However it is regarded as an adorable feature by many. The overall shape of Elliot also seems cartoonish and that can be due to an adaptation from a hand drawn cartoon. Only the full-scale revealing of the dragon in upcoming days will tell us about the exact features of this imaginary dragon of Pete.
Pete’s Dragon will star Robert Redford, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley and Bryce Dallas Howard. The story revolves around the different characters who live in a forest range.
An old wood carver character played by Redford told tales of a fierce dragon to the local children. His daughter Grace played by Howard who works in forest will somehow meet Pete.
Oakes Fegley is playing the role of Pete. Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old boy who would claim to live with a giant, green dragon on his own in the forest. This story then turns interesting when Grace looks for the clues about this imaginary dragon which turns out to be real.
The official synopsis (via Slashfilm) for Pete’s Dragon is given below:
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
