The Nice Guys go to their 70’s roots with an all new retro trailer with filters, voice overs and even an introducing part.

The Nice Guys red band trailer gave the audience something tough and rough to root for. Seeing Ryan Gosling as a mild-hearted and whimsy detective and Russell Crowe as a rough and edgy reinforce really promised everyone a thrilling ride at the theaters.

The trailers looked something like a 70s movie with colored bell bottomed suits, big, bouncy hairstyles and mustaches the whole aura of the trailer took us to a memorable trip back in time.

This is where Warner Bros. might have realized that they could really make something cool out of the retro look of the trailer and they went ahead an did it. With some really cool filters, video tape VHS quality video and a snappy voice over, the studio dropped the retro trailer for The Nice Guys.

So the first thing to notice is the 70s print of the trailer. You might think that your HD setting is off but it’s not. It’s just the trailer where Ryan and Russell peak into a corridor where there are men dying at both sides.

One of them falls down a window causing Ryan to throw up. We get the 70s trumpets and Russel Crowe punching a guy, Ryan Gosling falling off a chair while the voice-over introduces us to the cast.

There’s an introducing part for Kim Basinger which is a shout out to the start of her career in 1976. The trailer proceeds to show different bits from the movie, some of which we have already seen in the red band trailer but with a whole new perspective.

The movie has been directed by Shane Black and written by Anthony Bagarozzi. The cast of the film  also includes Matt Bomer, Keith David, Yaya DaCosta, and Margaret Qually. The movie releases in theaters on May 20th.
