The company known as Lockheed Martin is to send earthlings to Mars by the time 2028 rolls in. This is a bold and worthy scheme provided it takes place in actuality when the time comes.
The plan is to fly human beings into orbit around the planet Mars. For this Lockheed Martin is setting up a space lab that will go on an orbital path around the Red Planet. The target year for this complex maneuver is 2028.

Lockheed announces the spacecraft concept today at the second day of the Humans to Mars conference.
This scheme has yet to receive the full approval of NASA. It essentially reduces the time span for the space operations by a decade. Previously, it was in the 2030s that this was supposed to occur, yet now it is in the mid 2020s or so.
Lockheed Martin has a lot of arsenal which it will put to good use. It plans on providing habitats for an in-depth exploration of space. The company did not give the nitty gritty about how this lab would be set up in orbit around Mars though.
The only fact which got leaked out was that it would come within the budget proposed by NASA. In the time span of a decade there is much that can be done. The thing is to fit in all that be accomplished and get the job done in record time.
This Mars Base Camp would allow astronauts to exist in an up, close and personal manner to the moons of Mars. Also the science of telerobotics on the surface of Mars will be a possibility thanks to this scheme of things.
The rocks found on the landscape of the Red Planet will be sent to the lab orbiting Mars for analysis. This will generate valuable research which will go on to benefit human beings in space as well as on the home planet that is earth.
By employing the current leading edge technology, Lockheed Martin will start a bold and beautiful process in motion. To go where no other man has set foot yet is the goal of this space enterprise.
