Supplier of the dual lens camera module apparently not decided yet.

The iPhone 7 Plus or a special iPhone 7 Pro are rumored to feature a dual lens camera like the recently introduced Huawei P9. New reports from financial analysts with focus on Asia have conflicting reports about who will supply the iPhone 7 dual camera lens module.

Apple has reportedly planned to source the dual camera lens module from Sony. The Kumamoto earthquakes in April have though put a question mark on the ability of Sony ramping up production after the disruption the earthquake caused.

Citi Group analyst Arthur Lai thinks according to Barron's Asia that Sony might still be able to make the deadline if the plant can go back into full productivity in June. Sony has not informed about the status of its plants in the affected area.

LG Innotek is the other reported supplier of dual lens modules  for Apple. Nomura analyst Chris Chang believes that Sony can't deliver and that LG will get the bigger share of the dual camera module order from Apple.

There is still an discussion about whether all 5.5-inch iPhone 7 models will get a dual camera lens or only a "Pro" model. The dual camera lens rumor has been supported by leaked CAD renders and a leaked iPhone 7 casings.

As Huawei already offers a dual lens camera in a smartphone, it is not going to be novelty when Apple launches it. Apple has to shine in the details of what they are able to get users out of having a dual lens system.

Another feature that surfaced in leaked iPhone 7 casings is the smart connector introduced in the iPad Pro. The latest rumor says that Apple is not including a smart connector on the iPhone 7 according to Macotokara.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be unveiled in September. Foxconn is rumored to have begun hiring workers. The production of the iPhone 7 will kick off in the next weeks as the iPhone 7 is still believed to be in development.
