ZeroTech unveiled a smart selfie drone in the size of a smartphone in China today named Dobby.
Chinese drone maker ZeroTech has unveiled Dobby. Looks like the team at ZeroTech are Harry Potter fans. This smartphone sized quadcopter is packed with technology. The professional flight control, electronic image stabilization, computer vision, image transmission algorithm are running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-core 2.3Ghz chip, 2GB RAM, 16GB SSD, Adreno330 GPU and Hexagon DSP.

The foldable drone features a 13MP camera to take 4K video and stills transmitted via Wifi to a smartphone. ZeroTech says the Dobby drone is extremely intuitive to fly and users can learn to control the drone via the smartphone app in 5 minutes.
The Dobby drone features several flight control programs supported by GPS, GLONASS and visual positioning. Other features include face recognition, gesture control, The battery is good for 10 minutes of flight per charge.
Measurements of the Dobby selfie drone are 135x65x34mm (folded) and 135x145x34mm (unfolded). The small drone weighs just under 200g. The price of the Dobby drone is 1,899 yuan (~$290).
ZeroTech has unveiled the Dobby at a Big Data trade show in China this week. The demonstration shows a bunch of Dobby drones flying in circular formation, which looks incredibly cool. Watch the video from China's Xinhua below. The ZeroTech Dobby directly competes with the Hover Camera that Zero Zero Robotics unveiled last month. The fight of selfie drones has begun. Looking at the amazing flight control capabilities of the Dobby, I put my money on this one.
