Expressing his views last February, he confided that he had his own idea for a third part. He claimed that the movie that he was planning to make was a more conventional and suited third part in the franchise.
He did not say much after that. Meanwhile, veteran actors of Ghostbusters including Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson supported and agreed to make appearances in the reboot.
The film’s status became more grave with the release of it first trailer. The fans of the original movie criticized the movie a lot. The trailer became the most disliked trailer on YouTube. It was clear that many people were hating on the new movie for the female ensemble.
Some people were calling it a rip off and many commented on the actors. We have to remember that two of the actresses in the movie, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig were in the Oscar nominated movie, Bridesmaids.
That still did not keep the viewers from complaining about it. Melissa McCarthy and Paul Feig responded to haters in their own way. It wasn’t until one of the originals finally spoke.
Dan Aykroyd watched a test screening of the reboot and it changed his mind. He was not in support of the project before but now, he seems highly impressed. The actor noted in a Facebook post that as the originator of the original, he had watched the test screening.
He then went on to praise the cast, both female and male, in the movie. He admitted that the reboot had more scares and more laughs than the original. An added bonus was Bill Murray’s appearance. He then said that he was one of any ‘man-fans’ who will pay to watch the movie. He will also bring his friend.

Feig was not giving up on the project. These words of validation from Aykroyd are the kind of support that the movie needs to make its mark on Hollywood. We can be sure that Dan Aykroyd and friends will be coming to watch Ghostbusters which release on July 15th.
