The Model 3 design will be finalized in 6 weeks said Musk at a conference.

Elon Musk made some comments about the Model 3 at the Code conference last week. He said that the design of the Model 3 will be finalized in 6 weeks. At that point it is "complete pencils down" he said.

Musk also tried to clarify what it means when he says something about schedule and deadlines. The dates are never fake, but he might be delusional, which happened in the past.

Tesla Motors Co-founder and CTO JB Straubel said last week that the Tesla Model 3 launch is going as planned. It indeed looks like that everything about the Model 3 is at the moment on track.

Production of the Model 3 is planned to begin in 2017 with first customer deliveries taking place in late 2017. Because of the the surprising demand for the Model 3, the company has decided to advance the 500,000 total vehicle build plan (combined for Model S, Model X, and Model 3) to 2018, two years earlier than previously planned.

Tesla Motors recently clarified the number of valid Model 3 reservation. The company received 373,000 reservations as of May 15.

Elon Musk is a new fan of Norway. The country has plans to ban the sales of fuel cars in 2025. Elon Musk expressed his fandom on Twitter with "What an amazingly awesome country. You guys rock!!" The decision of the ban of conventional cars is though not official yet. The Norwegian government is looking at this proposal, but there is no decision yet. Norway has a huge share of electric cars already with 24%.
