Is Xiaomi beating Samsung to the punch with a curved screen phablet? Xiaomi's President Lin Bin hinted at the release of two high-end smartphones in July. This is according to a report in Chinese social media.

He did not specify which new high-end smartphones Xiaomi would release. Earlier rumor reports put the spotlight on the Xiaomi Note 2 and Note 2 edge.
The phablets reported feature a 5.5/5.7-inch screen. The Note Edge could be the first Xiaomi phone with a curved screen.
Rumored specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 also include Dual lens camera, 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 821 CPU and metal body. The Note Edge might not feature the dual camera according to a source.
Samsung is unveiling the new Galaxy Note 7 with curved screen in August. Xiaomi could impact the Galaxy Note 7 launch in China, in case the company is ready to ship the Note 2 right away.
The recently launched Xiaomi Mi 5 is reportedly the most popular smartphone in China as of May. With the new Note 2 and Note Edge, Xiaomi is likely having another bestselling smartphone in China. The company already introduced an even bigger smartphone with the Mi Max, featuring a 6.4-inch screen that is off to a great start in China.
