He said that the 60kWh Leaf is coming soon. However he said that he would not be able to tell the exact time of the arrival of this car. He confirmed about this news at EVS29, a large symposium held for EVs in Canada.
He said that he is proud to show his company’s latest battery technology at the event. According to Autoblog, he said that with the added battery power in the new Leaf, which is supposed to be of 60kWh, the car will be able to increase its range. As a matter of fact with a large battery, the car’s mileage will increase more than double, thus offering a range of almost 210-220 miles per charge.
The current model of the Nissan Leaf has a battery of 24kWh and a range of 84 miles. The miles will be increased drastically with the up-gradation of new battery. It looks like Nissan is going to follow the footsteps of Tesla Motors. Thus providing more battery power for more amount of money.
