A leading cardiologist has said that weight loss requires eating a high fat diet with little carbohydrates or sugar.

Cardiac disease remains a major killer in modern times. Most patients who end up in the cardiac ward eat hospital food that consists of cereals, white bread and jams and marmalades loaded with sugar.

Many of the patients had the innate intelligence to question such a counterintuitive diet. They asked the doctor doing the rounds regarding how they could escape the heart health dilemma if they were being fed the same garbage that got them in this mess in the first place.

This event occurred a half a dozen years ago. One of the cardiologists named Dr. Aseem Malhotra became concerned with this lacuna in the diet of the patients. He began wondering and pondering over the issue. The hospital food was a reflection of how the nation ate what amounted to utter junk. Y

You cannot out-exercise or out-live a poor diet of processed, sugary foods that had little in the way of vital nutrients as well as vitamins and minerals. While cutting fat had become something mandatory in the 90s, it may have backfired in matters of health.

The advice to cut back on fat and add in all the sugars and starches seemed to play havoc with human health. In fact, eating more fat was the answer to glowing health.

Furthermore, anyone who consumed something out of a package, tin can or glass jar bought from the supermarket is committing the same mistake.

These processed foods that were laced with preservatives were bound to ruin one’s physical well-being. Whether it is white bread or pasta sauce, the food is filled with hidden sugars and other ingredients that are harmful and ultimately end up clogging one’s arteries.

In fact, 80% of all such supermarket foods that stay put on the shelves till someone decides to buy them are a gamble for anyone with heart problems.

Add to this the triple whammy of white flour, potatoes and rice, and you have an epidemic of obesity and heart disease. These are all comfort foods that immensely harm the body.

Fat has been demonized till the breaking point, whereas it is the high sugar, low fat diet that has caused most of the diseases of affluence found in the West.

Besides obesity, diabetes is the ultimate outcome of these unnatural foods. Is it any wonder that many people feel tired all the time and have brain fog.

They are riding the blood sugar roller-coaster thanks to the hidden sugars in their diet. While sugars and starches ought to be cut from the diet, proteins and fats ought to be added.

The overall emphasis ought to be on whole foods. This diet works and the results speak for themselves. The food ought to be unprocessed and contain no refined carbohydrates in it.
