Pokemon Go maker Niantic Labs had to postpone the rollout to European countries because the servers could not keep up with the demand from trainers logging in from the launch countries US, Australia and New Zealand. The resell price on eBay for the Pokemon Go Plus has skyrocket to around $200 and more. The regular price of the Bluetooth Pokemon notifier is $34.99. Nintendo is expected to make more Pokemon Go Plus to satisfy demand.
The Pokemon Go Plus was available for pre-order for a while. The shipping date for the device is end of July. The Pokemon Go deals listed on eBay are pre-orders.
Pokemon Go Plus is a simple device. The biggest draw is that you can show off that you are a trainer. With Pokemon GO Plus you do not have to look at your smartphone to spot nearby Pokemon or PokeStops. The wearable connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth low energy and notifies you about events in the game using an LED light and vibration.
The Pokemon GO Plus will begin to blink and vibrate whenever you're within range of a PokeStop. Press the Pokemon GO Plus button to search the PokeStop for items. If you find any items, swipe or tap them to add them to your inventory. I wonder if the Pokemon GO Plus will vibrate all the time with the weird PokeStop outside my office.
When a Pokemon is near, the light on the Pokemon GO Plus will flash. It will also flash and vibrate when you pass a PokeStop.
Once a Pokemon is close, press the button on the Pokemon GO Plus to throw a Poké Ball. You'll only be able to throw a Poke Ball using Pokemon GO Plus if you've caught the Pokémon before. The Pokemon GO Plus will flash and vibrate to let you know if you were successful in catching the Pokemon.
The Pokemon Go Plus is listed on Amazon and GameStop. The limited list of retailers carrying the Pokemon Go Plus is a sign that Nintendo only ran a limited production. This is supported by the short pre-order period and its sold out state. Now that it is clear that Pokemon Go is a wild success, the Japanese video game maker will ramp production and maybe even release more Pokemon Go gadgets.
