Apple has been rumored for months to unveil the iPhone 7 on September 13. Now a new report claims an earlier date for the iPhone 7 keynote.
The iPhone 7 aka iPhone 6SE is according to the latest rumors going on sale on September 16. Reports out of Asia have pegged September 13 as date for the iPhone 7 event. Obviously that would put announcement and sales launch too close together. Apple has usually at least one week pre-order period for a new iPhone.

Evan Blass has put out the September 16 date over the weekend. He followed up now in a Tweet putting the iPhone 7 pre-order launch date on Friday, September 9. This would mean the iPhone 7 keynote event will be on Tuesday, September 6.
The new iPhone might not be called iPhone 7. A new rumor says Apple will call it iPhone 6SE to keep the full number upgrade for the redesigned 10th anniversary iPhone in 2017.
Leaked parts show that the iPhone 6SE has a streamlined design with more eye-pleasing solutions for the antenna lines and the camera lens mount. The most controversial feature of the iPhone 6SE is actually a lack of a feature. Apple is removing the 3.5mm audio jack. Headsets for the iPhone 7 will need to use the digital Lightning port or Bluetooth.
Apple is likely to bundle Lightning EarPods with the iPhone 7. Reports about Apple bundling an Lightning to 3.5mm audio jack adapter are ludicrous. If Apple is not bundling a Lightning EarPods, then the company completely lost its way. Nothing about an adapter is clean and simple.
The iPhone 6SE will offer new levels of performance with the new A10 CPU and the camera is also going to be yet again better. Apple is also finally giving the entry-level iPhone 7 32GB of storage.
