Pokemon Go Is Not Top Free App Anymore

The reign of Pokemon Go as the most downloaded free app on the Apple iTunes store in the United States is over.

For weeks Niantic's Pokemon Go app was the top free app in the iTunes app store. Today Bitstrips' Bitmoji Keyboard took over and leads the free download charts. Pokemon Go is still the top grossing app, which is the most important indicator. Americans had now over 3 weeks to download Pokemon Go. If anyone is even mildly interested in Pokemon Go, then he or she downloaded the app by now.

The Pokemon Go app is estimated to have over 75 million downloads so far across the world, where available. 

We still have to wait and see until the top free app charts are settling over the next 48 hours if indeed the reign of the Pokemon Go app in the free app chart is over. We will update this post with the movements of the Pokemon Go app in the iTunes chart. Pokemon Go still rules the free app chart on the Google Play store.

The top paid app in iTunes is a Pokemon Go real-time map app. The Go Gear - Live Maps for Pokemon Go app is leading the charts. The 99c app shows you where Pokemon are near you, like so many services out their based on the unofficial Pokemon Go APIs.

Industry insider estimate that the Pokemon Go app is grossing $1 billion this year. Niantic, Pokemon Company, Apple and Google are the big beneficiaries of the Pokemon Go craze banking each a third of the revenues. Only Nintendo is left out from getting paid
