Land Rover Defender is expected to be released by JLR under the name of new car by the year 2019. Jaguar Land Rover has filed an application to renew the trademark of Defender according to our reports. The name was requested on 4th August in Philippines. It was also filed for trademark in Europe in May.
Both of the above mentioned application are still being processed. However by this application we can clearly assume that JLR is all set to bring back a new generation Defender in the year 2019.
According to JLR officials, trademark listing and registration is something pretty common which is being dome regularly in auto companies. They also said that Defender is a key part of JLR’s fleet. The company is looking forward to bring about a more reliable and more updated variant of this jeep soon.
JLR is also working on Land Rover Classic and Land Rover Reborn programs currently. So we can actually expect many other models heading down for the new customers.
We don’t have any official information about the Defender being released any time soon. We know that last Defender was rolled out this January and after that its production was terminated.Later on it was revealed that JLR will now release an updated model of Defender.
According to AutoCar, earlier reports suggested that chemical billionaire Ratcliffe was interested in funding to resurrect the Defender however JLR didn’t show any interest in it.
