Niantic announced a new update of the Pokemon Go app on August 22.
Niantic announced late yesterday a new version of the Pokemon Go app. Android users already have received the new Pokemon Go 0.35.0 release in the Google Play store. iPhone users still have to wait as Apple has not yet released the Pokemon Go 1.5.0 update in the iTunes app store.

The new Pokemon Go app have one new major feature named Pokemon Appraisal. With Pokemon Appraisal trainers can learn about a Pokemon’s attack and defense capabilities from their Team Leader (Candela, Blanche or Spark) to determine which of their Pokemon have the most potential for battle. The appraisals are text based conversations. See screenshots.
Another big change that is still not in full effect is a security measure that is aimed at shutting down bots and Pokemon trackers. Niantic has introduced according to early analyses a change to Unknown6 digital signature and an in-app Captcha mechanism that kicks in when Niantic is detecting unusual behavior.
These new measures are going to put all bots and Pokemon trackers out of service. It is not clear yet if developers will find a fix for the new change. The changes are not in effect yet as most trackers are still working. There is though reportedly a faster banning procedure in place that target scanning software.
The current Pokemon Go app for iOS is version 1.3.1, released August 11.
Update: The Pokemon Go app 1.5.0 for iOS has been released and is avaiable in the iTunes app store or through the update tab in the App Store app on your iPhone or iPad.
We will update this report as soon as Pokemon Go 1.5.0 update for iOS is released in the Apple iTunes app store. The delay of the availability of the Pokemon Go update for iOS just shows the difference in quality of relationship Niantic has with Google, compared to Apple.
As mentioned above, the new Pokemon Go 0.35.0 Android update is released, but there is a mistake on the version number in the Google Play store. The version number still says 0.33.0. The updated date is though correct with August 22.
The new Pokemon Go updates are available in Google Play and soon in Apple iTunes or through the app updaters on your smartphone. Read about the new features in our initial report about the new Pokemon Go app announcement.
