Danny broke the record by attaining 400mph in his father's car despite the hard situations.

Danny Thompson finally did what he was aiming for the past many decades. He wanted to beat his father’s attempt of 400mph and he did it last week on the salty plains.

He went for this record breaking performance in the memory of his father Mickey Thompson, the Speed King. Dannyshared a pic of him on Reddit after setting 400mph speed record in his dad's car.

Mickey was murdered by a hitman who shot him on Mickey’s partner’s call. He was hit due to some conflicts with his partner over financial issues. However this speed attempt made sure that the father and son duo met again here at Bonneville.

His vehicle Challenger 2 had the name of his whole family printed on a side. On Saturday he was given the black cap that indicated the drivers who have achieved the 200mph haul. Later on he went on to grab the red cap which is only given to those who successfully attain the 400mph. only 11 drivers had attained this level in Bonneville earlier.

Danny’s father attained the number of 406.6 mph in 1960, according to CNN. He was the first one to do the 400mph haul in America. That record made Mickey Thompson a hero in the racing industry and he managed to earn a fortune while working for various companies too.

Danny has specially formulated Challenger 2 for this race. This car is built on the chassis of a car that was built by Mickey Thompson however it never went out for a race. The Challenger 2 has the humongous couple of 2,500 bhp engines.

Thus making it a 5000 horsepower strong and fiery blue tube. Danny finally set up a record of 406.767 miles per hour in his own car. Thus creating history again for his self and his family.  He beat his father’s record by .10 seconds.
