A photo surfaced on Chinese social media showing allegedly the Geekbench Score of the iPhone 7.
The iPhone 7 comes with the new A10 CPU. A leaked Geekbench benchmark test of the iPhone 7 puts the Single-Core Score at 3,042 and the Multi-Core Score at 5,210.
The iPhone 6S has a single core score of 2,490 and a multi-core score of 4341. The numbers in the leaked Geekbench test appear legitimate. The A10 CPU is though not beating the iPad Pro CPU, which has a single core Geekbench score of 3,224 and a multi-core score of 5,466.
The leaked photo of the alleged iPhone 7 Geekbench score is hard to verify as there are many ways to fake such a photo. If fake, then the person had a good hand in estimating the performance of the A10 CPU.
The leaked iPhone 7 Geekbench screen shot has though another interesting information. The device is identified as iPhone 6 SE. It's displayed on the Geekbench screen as iPhone6 SE. This is actually quite suspicious as usually the internal iPhone model identifiers such as iPhone8,4, which is the identifier for the iPhone SE.
The operating system is displayed as iOS 10.
There have been reports of working iPhone 7 devices out in the wild. We have seen one that ran Apple's testing system. It is possible that someone managed to install an iOS 10 beta onto such a device. We try to vet this photo, to get a better sense if it is legit.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be unveiled on September 7. This is exactly in two weeks from today. If the rumored date holds than Apple is going to send out media invites for the iPhone 7 event soon.
The iPhone 7 will feature besides the new A10 CPU, up to 256GB storage, improved cameras and an improved iPhone 6 design. The home button is likely going to be touch sensitive.
