Comedy Central has ordered a TV show that was created by, starring, and executive produced by comedian James Davis. This might seem like any other announcement of a TV show, except this one is based on Swag-A-Saurus with James Davis, a Snapchat series from Comedy Central. You might recognize Davis from his appearances on Chris Hardwick's @midnight. The upcoming pilot he'll star in was inspired by the Snapchat show that so many people have watched.

In fact, it was Comedy Centrals' most watched program on the show.

The series will premiere in 2017. Davis will explore topics that were inspired by his old neighborhood that he called "hood-adjacent" South Central Los Angeles. If you have seen the show on Snapchat, he likes to take popular words or slang terms like "shade" or "finna" and offer explanations in a way that is both informative and funny.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the show is repurposed from Snapchat to a television format. The show already posts  a new episode every Monday and will likely continue to generate publicity.

The show will debut on Comedy Central in 2017, according to Engadget.
