Madison Square Garden was moved by Alicia Keys strong voice and strong words as she recited a poem while on stage of the MTV VMAs.
However, there are a lot of people who cannot get past the fact that the beautiful singer who rocked her black and red Just Calvin ensemble decided to go makeup free. She walked the red carpet hand in hand with her husband Swizz Beatz who did not look bothered about his wife’s decision.
That is why he called out to all the people who did actually have a problem with her makeup free look in an Instagram video. In the video he addressed all the trolls that had been bothering Alicia.
“This is deep”, he said, “Somebody sitting home mad because somebody didn’t wear makeup on their face. Not your face, but they didn’t put makeup on their face because they just didn’t feel like wearing makeup,” he vented.
“But you mad because that person didn’t put on makeup to please you? Type of s--t is this? Cause you can do whatever you wanna do. She didn’t tell y’all don’t wear no makeup. She just said that she’s not vibin’ with the makeup all the way 100 percent like that. That’s kinda her thing that she wanna do. You must be mad at a lot of s—t. You better look in that mirror and get that ass fixed ’cause if you mad at somebody else for not putting makeup on their face as their decision, you got a lot of work to do in life, and we all do, but you sure do.”
Alicia also reached out to people on her own Instagram. She posted a selfie giving a flying kiss and she captioned it, “Y'all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn't mean I'm anti-makeup. Do you!”
