While the new PS4 is already shipping next week on September 15, it is the PS4 Pro that is already avaiable for pre-order. The Sony PlayStation 4 Pro will be released on November 10. Amazon is taking pre-orders for the 1TB Sony PS4 Pro now on amazon.com.
There is a lot of discussion going on already if the PS4 Pro is a worthwhile investment. I say it is a bargain. Not only do you get 4K performance, but there is also a 1TB hard-drive that doubles the storeage over the $299 PS4. For $100 more you get a console that puts your 4K TV to work.
The deciding factor in making the decision for the PS4 Pro purchase is not the higher price. It is about owning a fitting 4K TV with HDR or planning on getting the Sony PS VR virtual reality glasses. If you have a 4K TV with HDR support than upgrade. If not, stick to your regular PS4 console. Sony is bringing HDR support to all PS4 consoles.

The image quality increase is substancial, but you need a HDR capable TV, which in most cases are 4K TVs. Many of the 2016 4K Televisions on sale on Amazon support HDR. The TV is the big investment, not the PS4 Pro. We will likely see Sony PS4 Pro Black Friday 2016 deals in the shape of bundles that include a fitting TV. If you want to be one of the first to own a PS4 Pro console, you need to pre-order it now. It ships weeks before Black Friday 2016.
