The third migration of Pokemon has now taken place. The nest change comes 10 days later than initially believed.
The Nest Atlas at The SilphRoad does need major updating. The Pokemon Go trainer community was expecting the third Pokemon Nest migration to happen on September 16 or 17. Niantic has been changing Pokemon nests in two migrations that happened after 23 and 24 days respectively. Now 10 days later the migration has happened and nests all over the world have changed in Pokemon Go.

With the 3rd migration took place 34 days after the 2nd migration. This new data point basically is making predicting the 4th Pokemon migration impossible. Niantic is in full control of nest changes.

The Pokemon Go community The Silphroad is spearheading the research into the nest changes. Their online Nest Atlas has features for trainers to verify and report changes at mapped nests. The nest changes are different from the first two migrations. There is no way in knowing into what species a nest has change. Additionally, not all nests changed.
There are also new Pokemon nests. the Silphroad atlas recorded almost 1,000 new nest locations in the first hours of the migration. The most common nest post-migration Pokemon on Seel.
A lot of trainers report disappointing nest migration results. Many nests seem to have migrated into common Pokemon. Pokemon tracker FastPokemap has confirmed the nest migration too. With the Pokemon Map nest changes are easy to verify, without leaving the house.
