This large recall will be made in three parts. The recall which will focus more on the vehicles produced in America includes over five models of Audi and many VW Golfs.
The largest recall out of the three is the one that will include 143,214 Audis. These will include the famous Audi Q5 and Q7 crossover vehicles. These vehicles were assembled and produced in 2019-12 and 2007-12 respectively.
All of these models are facing issues of fuel leakage that happens due to a crack in fuel cap flange that can make the fuel leak out of the fuel tank. These cars are inscribed with gasoline engines.
The second round of recall will focus on very famous model by Volkswagen which is none other than Golf. This will include the recall of Golf, Golf SportWagen, GTI and sedan & cabrio version of Audi A3. All of these models were produced from the year 2015-16.
Most of the vehciles in this category of recall are facing another leakage problem. These vehicles have been reported to face a problem in the suction pump inside the fuel tank.
This problem leads on to create fuel leakage in the evaporative emission system and through the charcoal canister. This second part of recall will affect 110,042 cars in United States.
Then there is a third recall which will affect 28,249 cars. These include the Audi A6 and A7 which were manufactured in the year 2012-13.
These are recalled in order to correct the leakage that can happen in hose and engine compartment. The fuel leakage in all these cars can lead to problems such as explosion and the car being on fire.
