The Nintendo NES Classic is hard to find. Shoppers who do not want to go through the trouble of find a NES can choose from other 80s retro gaming consoles.

The Nintendo NES Classic is one of the hardest to find Holiday gifts of 2016. Nintendo has reportedly sold close to 200,000 NES Classic in November, despite customers having a very hard time finding NES in stock. 

The next big chance to score a NES Classic is on Tuesday at Best Buy stores. Consumers who do not want to line up at a Best Buy over night or stare on in stock trackers all day set their mind on other retro gaming systems that bring back the 80s. Retro gaming consoles are not a new thing and have been around since years. Nintendo just renewed the interest in the 8 bit game classics.

Target is addressing the new retro video gaming hype by featuring the Atari Flashback 6 Classic Game Console in stores' new weekly ad. The Atari Flashback 6 sells for $44.99, only in Target stores.

Retro-bit offers the NES Retro Entertainment System for $17.49 on Amazon.com. This Top Loader 8-bit System is compatible with all NES game cartrigdes including Super Mario Bros. Gamers need to get the NES cartridges to play

eBay is flushed with retro gaming consoles. A popular choice is the 8GB 4.3'' 32Bit 10000 Games Built-In Portable Handheld Video Game Console Player. This handheld gaming controller looks like Sony PSP and plays GBA, NES, and SMC format games. This retro gaming handheld console sells for only $29.99 on ebay.com.

DIY enthusiasts can build their own NES Classic based on a Raspberry PI. This video guide released by Snazzy Labs shows how to build a real NES emulated console in an original Nintendo game cartridge. It combines a Raspberry Pi Zero with a central USB hub and USB Gamepad.

Nintendo is under heavy criticism for bad demand forecasting since years. Part of it is intentional as shortage generates buzz. The downside are the countless hours of people spent in line and the caused frustration.

Despite the shortage, Nintendo has sold 196,000 NES Classic Edition units in November according to sales statistics released by NPD. The current reseller offers on Amazon.com are starting at $219, plus $3.99 shipping.

The $59.99 Nintendo NES Classic Edition console launched on November 11 in stores and online. The supply was extremely constraint in stores and especially online. Right now all stores are sold out of the retro 80s TV gaming console. Even NES accessories are hard to come by.

On launch day Nintendo said: "The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year. Please contact your local retailers to check availability."

The palm-sized NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.

The NES Classic Edition comes only with a single wired controller. There are 3rd party controllers and accessories that make the NES more fun to use. Gamers can get additional controllers and even wireless controllers.
