ASUS announced a new version of the fantastic NVIDIA 9600 GT. The new version of the 9600 GT from ASUS is called the Silent and uses a passive cooler that produces no sound at all. ASUS uses its V-Cool Heatsink solution and ASUS says the tech will reduce GPU temperatures by 10 degrees C compared to standard reference cooling solutions.

There is a lofty claim by ASUS that not only is the solution dead silent, but performs better than the reference cooler as well. The card also features ASUS’ new SmartDoctor, which allows overclocking of the shader clock on the GPU.

The other features of the 9600GT Silent are the same as the other card on the market like 512MB of RAM and more. The card is available now at $179.
