Nintendo seems to have reached a tremendous milestone for their Nintendo DS portable console in Japan. Japanese sales analyst Media Create announced that the 100 million pieces of software for the Nintendo DS have been sold in Japan.
Just to put that in perspective: EA just announced this week that The Sims reached the 100 million sales mark globally.
Japan has a population of about 127.4 million. Soon there will be 1 DS game per Japanese on average.
